WebCT Vista 3 will be retired December 2007

What does this mean for faculty?

  • This migrations is an upgrade to the current version of WebCT Vista. It is not a switch to the Blackboard product used at other universities.
  • The new URL is http://elearning.ipfw.edu.
  • Access to Blackboard Vista 4 is currently available for all instructors.
  • Instructions to access your course development area in Blackboard Vista 4 are available.
  • Instructors currently using WebCT Vista 3 will need to migrate to Blackboard Vista 4 by winter break, 2007.
  • WebCT Vista 3 will not be available starting spring term, 2008.

What's new in this version?

  • Updated navigation and organization of tools to make use easier.
  • Added features to all existing tools.
  • Addition of journals and blogging as part of the discussion tool.

What resources are available for the transition?

  • 60+ training sessions free to all IPFW instructors
  • In-depth reference guides
  • Instructors with extensive content currently in WebCT Vista 3 can fill out a request form for templates or sections be migrated to Blackboard Vista 4.
